We are hosting an American Red Cross blood drive THIS FRIDAY, July 18, from 12:30pm to 6:00pm and we're running behind our goal of 30 advanced donor sign-ups.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HELP OTHERS -- Please consider donating an hour of your time to help save lives. Each pint can help up to three people and blood is always in short supply, especially in the summer.

If you're an eligible donor, please come help. If you've never donated, now is the time. If you've donated before, you know what a rewarding and easy way this is to help others in need. If you don't know if you're eligible, check the ARC website link for more details.

PLEASE SIGN UP ONLINE NOW so that the ARC can plan accordingly for the number of blood donors and you have a spot reserved for you. Most of the still-available appointments are from 1:10-3:50pm, so take advantage of a great reason to get off work early or bring your kids to the range after school.

All donors (or those attempting to donate) will receive:

• Entry in ARC regional "Win a $500 Gas Card" drawing
• Free large bucket of range balls or $10 added to your CGC range card
• Coupon for 25% off any one item in the CGC pro shop (some restrictions apply)
• Free Skillet Queso from Chili's

Even if you don't sign up in advance, you're welcome to drop-in and donate during the drive. Thanks for your consideration and help.

U.S. Kids is bringing their entire line of junior equipment for a kids-only demo event this Saturday, July 19, 11am-3pm.

Bring your kids to test the U.S. Kids clubs in their specific size on the driving range. Talk to manufacturer representatives to learn more about how important it is for developing junior golfers to have clubs of the correct length and weight so that their swings can progress along with their growth.

FREE EVENT, no sign-up needed. Juniors of any size and skill level welcome.

IT'S TIME TO GET A GRIP!

It's summer time, so we're hopefully all out playing more golf. For optimal performance, make sure your grips are in proper shape so you can maintain a good connection with your clubs.

Bring your clubs in the pro shop and let our professional staff check your grips (free service). We'll also check to make sure your grips are the correct size, as so many players are using the incorrect size and compromising their ball flight.

Top 10 indications your grips may need replacing or are the wrong size:

1. It's been so long, you don't remember when they were changed
2. Your golf glove gets worn out quickly
3. Grips feel slick to the touch when dry
4. Holding clubs tighter than normal
5. Hands or forearms get fatigued quickly
6. Grips have worn spots or are threadbare
7. Clubs were hand-me-downs or garage sale purchase
8. You're losing distance or hitting it sideways
9. Clubs twist in your hands during swing or at impact
10. If you play regularly, change grips every 6-12 months
